On Armed forces Day, from a private grass airfield steeped in military history, Vicky Nuttall, Mark Portman and Lowri Walker took to the skies over the beautiful Cotswolds countryside to raise money for Greenfingers Charity. Blessed with glorious weather, as spectators picnicked, the trio received their instructions before donning red flying suits in readiness for their challenge of a life-time.
Not usually one to seek an adrenaline challenge, speaking about her high flying adventure Director of GIMA, Vicky said “Doing the Wing Walk has to be the most bonkers but greatest challenge I’ve ever done, I’d definitely recommend it anyone”
Grinning from ear to ear after the flight, Lowri, from SBM Life Science said “That was the most amazing experience to date and for such a worthwhile cause. Bring on the loop the loop!”
With a fear of heights, upon safe landing, Managing Director of Evergreen Garden Care simply said “It was just brilliant, I absolutely loved every minute!”
Having counted them all out and then counted them all back in again, Director of Fundraising and Communications, Linda Petrons said “I would like to say a huge thank you to them all for taking on the challenge for Greenfingers Charity and in doing so raising such an amazing amount of money. I’d like also to thank the many individuals and businesses who have donated through their Just Giving page. With more gardens now in the planning stages, the money raised really will make such a difference to life-limited children and their families.”
The trio have so far raised almost £9k and are hopeful the total will continue to rise in the days ahead.
