Ten-year-old Aidan Parmar saw the realisation of his glove design when he received a surprise presentation of the finished article in front of his classmates and parents at Brocks Hill Primary School’s morning assembly in Leicestershire.
The presentation of Aidan’s Gloves was the successful conclusion of his initial designs which were finessed with Lewis Simper, Head of Design, at Briers head office in Somerset. Since going through the manufacturing process they are now readily available in garden centres across the country and online.
Briers were treated to a warm welcome and an entertaining assembly performed by Aidan’s class. Aidan looked visibly surprised and chuffed with the unexpected visit from the Briers team arriving with a framed keepsake of his creation and gloves for all his classmates.
It all started for Aidan when he entered a glove competition in 2016 but was left disappointed when his competition win was not fulfilled and never came to fruition by the original manufacturer who ran the competition. The industry leaders, Briers, were more than happy to step in and help upon hearing of Aidan’s disappointment and get his glove design into production to add to their award-winning kids range.
Aidan’s Gloves are a unique design and raise funds for the children’s hospice garden charity, Greenfingers. They are dedicated to supporting the children who use hospices around the UK, along with their families in beautiful, well-designed outdoor spaces. A donation of 30p is made with each pair of Aidan’s gloves sold.
