Sales of young veg plants have really exploded despite the weather, with garden centre EPOS data supplied for GTN Bestselllers. They outsold seed packs to take the Top 33 chart positions and 46 in total of the Top 50.  

Next week we expect sales to show a further boost as the Suttons grafted veg plants get delivered in.

Star performers include:

• Cucumber F1 takes the No 1 position ahead of five tomato varieties.
• Jalapeno Hot Shakira is the highest new entry at No 28.
• Young courgette plants from Quantil are the highest chart climber, up 32 places to No 7.
