The Westland Garden newspaper celebrates 2nd edition with 1 million copies

Westland Horticulture, home to market leading brands such as Jack’s Magic, Boost, Big Tom, Resolva, Peckish, Kent & Stowe and Unwins, is thrilled to announce the 2nd edition of The Westland Garden newspaper. The highly anticipated publication will soon be arriving at garden centres across the UK and ROI.

Following the success of last spring’s debut edition, which reached almost half a million households, this year’s distribution will double to 1 million copies, allowing many more keen gardeners to be inspired to make this season’s garden their best yet. Copies will be available for consumers to pick up free from garden centres during March and April.

The free 32-page newspaper, written by a host of horticultural journalists, aims to be a quality guide that helps anyone to achieve success in their garden. From planting and sowing to pruning and watering, the newspaper offers seasonal advice and practical tips to help readers maximise their outdoor spaces, allotments, patios, and even indoor jungles.

This year’s UK cover star is comedian Tom Allen, who shares an exclusive interview about what gardening means to him. Other highlights of the 2nd edition include:

  • Gardendesigner Adam Frost on the story of his stunning Lincolnshire garden
  • The experts at David Austin Roses share some of their best roses this season
  • Michael Perry, aka Mr Plant Geek, shares his top suggestions for on-trend planting
  • Luxury houseware designer Abigail Ahern highlights how houseplants can add structure, texture and style in any home
  • Mental Health charity, Mind, provides an insight on why it’s encouraging the nation to get outside and garden more.

Keith Nicholson, Marketing Director, at Westland, commented: “The feedback from our first edition of The Westland Garden newspaper was overwhelmingly positive from both our retail partners and consumers alike. Our latest edition continues to inspire consumers and offer expert advice on how to achieve a stunning outdoor space and a thriving indoor jungle.

“We urge garden centres to place the freestanding display units and newspaper copies in high-traffic areas to encourage customers to pick up their free copy. It’s a valuable resource that will help inspire purchases, drive repeat visitors, and empower the nation to enjoy their garden.”
