Sustainability is a journey, not a destination
GTN Xtra Promotion

STV Little Cressingham

STV is a business with sustainability at the core, but they don’t see it just as an item on the ‘to do’ list. Their approach is to embed the improvement of environmental and social responsibility directly into their medium and long term strategy, making sustainability a key part of every business decision.

STV are proud to be able to say that they have eliminated the use of all fossil fuels in their UK manufacturing and logistics operations through the installation of biomass boilers. They already have 1,000 solar panels on the main site with plans to install a further 500 during the next phase of their expansion. This allows them to export up to 80% of the electricity they generate to the National grid. More of their unique product is now being manufactured in the UK, reducing their carbon footprint and they have removed thousands of tonnes of plastic from their packaging over the last year.

They’re not stopping there. Motivated by the progress they have already made, STV have begun their journey to achieving B Corp Certification. All certified members are business who lead the global movement for an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy and meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Katy Boyd, Brand Manager said “As far as I am aware, we will be one of the first companies in our sector to achieve BCorp Certification. It’s a unique way to demonstrate our commitment to environmental and social sustainability because the process is entirely transparent with all our performance metrics measured against the B impact assessments and made publicly available on the BCorp website. There’s absolutely no hiding!”

BCorp is a global organisation with nearly 6,000 certified members in 85 countries with a mission to transform the global economy to benefit all people, communities and the planet.

STV intend to be fully BCorp certified by the end of 2023.
