The Garden Centre Association is hosting two webinars for its members on sustainability and catering this month.
The first webinar on July 20 will be to discuss challenges and the impact the past two years has had on restaurants and the second on July 27 will aim to find out what centres are doing to reduce carbon emissions.
Iain Wylie, GCA Chief Executive, said: “Our virtual events have proven successful in the past, so we have decided to gather our members together virtually once again to discuss these two hot topics.
“The first webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 20 at 10am. We will have a panel of garden centre owners, directors and managers, all with different catering operations, including self-service, counter or table service, together with Chris Brown of Turpin Smale, which is a leading UK catering consultancy, who will give a wider perspective on the hospitality industry.
“We will also discuss the challenges ahead and the impact the past two years has had on our member’s restaurants and how this is now influencing decisions for the future.
“The second webinar on Wednesday, July 27 at 3pm will be about sustainability. As an Association, we have been asking all of our members to nominate a Sustainability Champion and during the webinar we will be finding out what our members are doing and what needs or can be done as we face the challenge of reducing our carbon emissions. It looks set to be an interesting webinar with lots to discuss.
“Our members will receive invitations to join the webinars, however, they can get in touch with us via info@gca.org.uk to receive a link.”
The GCA represents nearly 200 garden centres nationwide.
Through sharing information and its inspection programme the GCA helps members to achieve high standards in customer service, plant quality and reliability.
