Wyevale Garden Centres (WGC) today announced it has acquired Raglan Garden Centre. Located in Monmouthshire and featuring over 60,000 square feet of internal and external retail space, the centre will complement the Company’s existing coverage in the region and bring the size of the WGC estate to 143 centres.
Kevin Bradshaw, Chief Executive of WGC, said: “We are pleased to continue our growth with the addition of the award-winning Raglan Garden Centre, which has a strong and loyal customer base and an excellent reputation among garden enthusiasts.
"Known for its large range of garden-related products and renowned restaurant, which has dramatic landscape views of the Sugarloaf Mountain and the Welsh countryside, the centre is an ideal addition to our estate and we look forward to welcoming its customers and employees to our business.” Raglan Garden Centre has been owned and operated by Martin and Jean Davies, who acquired the site in 1991 and have since taken it from strength to strength, improving footfall and building its impressive restaurant and stylish Interiors department.
The centre has been recognized with a number of recent awards, including winners of GTN’s Gold Garden Care Team 2014, GCA’s Best Plant Area Wales & West 2013 and Best Christmas Displays 2012 & 2013. Martin and Jean Davies of Raglan Garden Centre (pictured below) said: “After 23 years at the helm, it’s time for us to take a step back and hand over the reins of Raglan to a company that can drive it forward and continue the success it has enjoyed.
"This is not without regret, as we have made great friends in the industry and we will miss them sorely. Our team at Raglan has been inspirational in making the business what it is today and for that we would like to thank them all sincerely.”
