Spooky Halloween walk raises record-breaking £1,316 for The Bracken Trust

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre has announced that its annual Spooky Halloween Walk raised a record-breaking£1,316 for its 2026 Charity of the Year, The Bracken Trust.

Open throughout October and until 1st November, the much-loved community attraction once again brought plenty of family-friendly frights, spooky surprises and Halloween fun to visitors, all while raising money for a fantastic local charity.

This year, all voluntary donations from the Halloween Walk went towards The Bracken Trust, a charity providing practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer, as well as their families and carers.

Matthew Lewis, Retail and Events Manager at The Old Railway Line Garden Centre, shared his delight at the fundraising success: "We're absolutely thrilled to have raised £1,316 from this year's Spooky Halloween Walk. This is the most we've ever raised through the event, which is a fantastic achievement! It's wonderful to see so many families enjoying the walkway and giving generously to support our Charity of the Year. A huge thank you to everyone who visited, donated and helped make it such a success."

Each year, part of the garden centre's plant area is transformed into the Spooky Halloween Walk, creating a short, spine-tingling trail filled with eerie decorations, spooky sound effects and surprises for visitors of all ages. It has become a firm favourite in the garden centre's autumn events calendar, offering families an enjoyable seasonal activity while supporting a worthwhile cause.

The Bracken Trust provides support to people living with cancer, their families and carers, offering a welcoming environment and a range of services to help people navigate the challenges that a cancer diagnosis can bring.

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who visited the Spooky Halloween Walk and contributed to this fantastic fundraising total.
