Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Garden Re-Leaf Thames Walk JustGiving page.
Our team of walkers completed our challenging 20 mile route through London on Friday. Most people's pedometers and mapping software showed that we completed over 55,000 steps and more like 22-23 miles! The first 12 miles to Greenwich were fairly easy but miles 12-16 were agonisingly slow due to team blisters and a pub stop! By the time we got to Green Park with just a couple of miles to go it was really a sponsored shuffle. Most people found it quite hard to get up and walk once we had finished. Walking on pavements and through crowds was harder than I had ever anticipated.
The great news is that the industry team raised over SEVEN THOUSAND pounds towards a new Greenfingers hospice garden.
Thank you all for your kind contributions :)
BLURB:
The walk is raising money for Greenfingers, a small national charity dedicated to supporting the children who spend time in hospices around the UK, along with their families, by creating inspiring gardens for them to relax in and benefit from. The charity is dedicated to creating beautiful, well designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with family, friends and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation.
To date Greenfingers has created 44 inspiring gardens and has a further waiting list of hospices that need our help.
