It was officially a record breaking May according to the GTN Bestsellers Epos Sales data analysis. May 2018 total garden centre sales were up by 12% on May 2017 and ahead of the previous May best set in 2016 by 1%.

While bids and offers are worked on to buy the 145 Wyevale centres, operational garden centre teams will be paying more attention to the June weather in the hope that further year on year gains can be made in the quest for parity on sales by the mid year point.

• All Plants Index - up 3%
• All Items Index - down 2%
