Ten growers reach AIPH International Grower of the Year 2023 finals

Ten ornamental horticulture growers from around the world, including Allensmore Nurseries, have reached the finals for the AIPH International Grower of the Year (IGOTY) Awards 2023.

Organised by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) in collaboration with headline sponsor Royal FloraHolland, the IGOTY Awards champion outstanding achievement and celebrate the expertise the best growers give to the industry.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 24th January 2023 at the Atlantic Hotel in Essen, Germany. Taking place alongside IPM Essen, the evening event includes a drinks reception with a range of food to fill stomachs as guests network with others in the industry.

The IGOTY 2023 Finalists are (in alphabetical order):

  • Allensmore Nurseries Ltd, UK
  • Brookdale Treeland Nurseries Limited, Canada
  • Fructoplant Sp. z o.o., Poland
  • Morel Diffusion SAS, France

The IGOTY Awards 2023 consists of four categories: Finished Plants and Trees, Cut Flowers and Bulbs, Young Plants and Sustainability. Within each category, bronze, silver and gold awards will be given. One winner will be crowned the ‘AIPH International Grower of the Year 2022’ and receive the ‘Gold Rose’ – the industry’s most coveted prize.

Commenting on the final list, AIPH Secretary General, Tim Briercliffe said “I am delighted to see this list of amazing companies from around the world. Each one is leading our industry and setting an example to the global industry. It is a huge achievement to reach this final list and I congratulate every one of them for this.”

An international jury of industry experts, led by past AIPH President Mr Bernard Oosterom, assessed the competition entries against specific criteria relating to economic performance, innovation, market insight, sustainability and human resources.

Tickets for the evening reception and awards ceremony cost only €50 (incl. VAT) per person. Groups of five tickets are available for the discounted price of €200 and groups of ten for €350. To secure your place, visit the AIPH Website. Tickets can be cancelled and refunded (minus a €10 admin fee) until 13th January 2023.

AIPH thanks Headline Sponsor Royal FloraHolland, Founding Partner FloraCulture International, and Ruby Sponsor GLOBALG.A.P. & GGN Label for their continued support of the awards.
