Westland strengthens mulching offer

Westland Horticulture, home to brands such as Jack’s Magic, Boost, Kent & Stowe, Big Tom and Unwins, is expanding its mulch offering with the launch of Organic Gold, a premium fine mulch that’s perfected with organic nutrition.

As gardeners turn their attention to soil preparation ahead of the busiest growing months, Westland is encouraging retailers to capitalise on the seasonal demand for mulches with its expanding and trusted portfolio, including the launch of the new Organic Gold Fine Mulch.

Organic Gold Fine Mulch is a premium organic mulch designed to deliver a rich, healthy and structured soil, ready for the growing season ahead. Made with care, and matured over time, it’s been crafted with Westland’s strong expertise in soils and is OF&G approved. Westland Organic Gold Fine Mulch offers a back-to-basics approach with a modern appeal, creating a stable, nourishing surface layer that helps improve soil structure, retain moisture, gradually release natural nutrients and help supress weeds. It is suitable for use around young and sensitive plants, edibles and ornamentals, therefore making it ideal for organic growers and home gardeners alike.

The launch of Organic Gold Fine Mulch also reflects a wider shift in consumer behaviour, with gardeners seeking products that are rooted in traditional growing principles.

Dympna Carron, Senior Brand Manager at Westland, commented: “Mulching is one of the most important steps gardeners should take to prepare their soil for the season ahead. By launching our brand-new Organic Gold Fine Mulch, alongside our trusted products like Farmyard Manure, we’re giving retailers a strong, relevant range that meets the needs of today’s gardeners, and supports sales during this crucial trading period. This launch directly addresses the growing consumer appetite for natural, sustainable gardening solutions, and provides garden centres with a strong opportunity to meet that demand in-store.”

Complementing the new Organic Gold Fine Mulch is Westland’s classic Farmyard Manure, a long-standing favourite with gardeners looking to enrich soil naturally. Together with the Organic Gold Fine Mulch, the two products give retailers a simple way to merchandise a complete mulching and soil conditioning offer at a time when consumers are actively preparing beds and borders.

As with all Westland products, Organic Gold is available to order 24/7 via Westland Live. If you don’t yet have a trade account with Westland Live, call +44 (0)28 8772 1080 to have your account set up, or speak to your account manager.
