Become a Christmas hero at Dobbies Garden Centres

Turns out Santa and his elves don’t get much of a rest during the summer holidays as Dobbies Garden Centres, one of the biggest employers of Santas and elves in the UK, is on the hunt for their festive team.

It may be the middle of summer, but Dobbies is inviting applicants to apply to the various seasonal roles at the heart of their festive events across the country this Christmas.

Joining the Dobbies Christmas team involves bringing smiles to the faces of customers with every “ho-ho-ho”, listening to every child’s wish no matter how big or small, and helping to make each visit memorable for every member of the family, dogs included. Dobbies ideal candidates are warm, jolly, and full of cheer and willing to listen to the different needs, wish lists, and questions that may come their way.

From welcoming children (and dogs) to Dobbies’ North Pole adventure-themed Grotto, to hosting Santa’s Breakfast in the restaurant, these merry recruits will be at the heart of spreading festive cheer and helping families excitedly countdown to Christmas. Successful applicants will undergo a training programme through Dobbies’ Santa School.

To ensure the most magical start to the festive season, Dobbies’ seasonal colleagues will begin preparations in mid-November, in plenty of time for Santa’s Arrival, a free-to-attend celebration to kick start the season that takes place on Sunday 23 November.

Dobbies’ Events Programme Manager, Ayesha Nickson, is excited for the festive season and looking forward to welcoming applications. She said: “Christmas is always a magical time at Dobbies, and we are looking forward to creating memorable visits for all the all the family this year, with the help of our new Christmas team.

“We are encouraging anyone that loves the festive season to apply, no matter how much experience they have. Our training programme ensures everyone will be feeling confident to create unforgettable moments. If you're looking for a rewarding role this festive season, we strongly encourage you to apply.”

Applicants are now invited to apply for the roles.

Dobbies’ Santa School is an online learning platform that each successful applicant will undergo. After completing the course, new seasonal colleagues will receive further in-store training sessions.
