Staff and visitors at Fletcher's Garden Centre in Eccleshall, Staffordshire, had to be evacuated when an outbuilding with a thatched roof caught alight on Thursday.

Nearby homes had no power as firefighters tackled the blaze because the overhead power cables had been earthed to make the area safe for crews.

The garden centre was closed for over four hours but was re-opened by 4pm once the fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported.
