New 300-seater restaurant opens at Caulders Kirkintilloch

Caulders Garden Centre has officially opened its impressive new 300-seater restaurant at Kirkintilloch, Glasgow – a major investment in the site where Caulders hospitality journey first began.

Kirkintilloch was the first restaurant Caulders ever built. It is where their passion for warm, friendly table service was established and where the high standards they hold themselves to today were first set. After many years of incredible support from local customers, the team felt it was the perfect time to give this much-loved restaurant the upgrade it deserved.

This £2 million development has transformed the dining experience, offering a bright, spacious and comfortable environment for customers to enjoy freshly prepared meals and delicious homemade baking every day. A key feature is the brand new purpose-built bakery, proudly supplying Caulders famous home baking to their nine restaurants across Scotland. The restaurant also includes flexible venue rooms, which customers can hire for celebrations and gatherings – all while enjoying Caulders well-loved hospitality.

The project has created 20 new jobs, bringing Caulders team to almost 500 people across their 10 centres. The investment has been fully funded through Caulders own cashflow – a reflection of the strength of the business and its long-term commitment to growing sustainably.

Environmental performance has been central to the build. High-performance insulation, modern glazing, energy-efficient air source heat pumps and a 75kW solar PV system work together to reduce energy use. A 30,000 litre rainwater harvesting tank also helps water the plants across the centre, reducing mains water usage.

Colin Barrie, Managing Director, said: “This new restaurant, together with the improvements we are making across our existing restaurants, shows our continued commitment to offering great hospitality to our customers. Our customers at Kirkintilloch have been continually loyal and we are delighted to be able to offer them this wonderful new facility.”
