Free Father's Day pints and burgers will launch new garden centre

Deepdale Country Stores at Barton-upon-Humber is to open an expanded garden centre next month. It will be launched on Father's Day (21 June), when a free pint of beer and a burger, cooked on Kadai fire bowls, will be offered to each customer.

The 4,500 sq.m. garden centre will stock 20,000 plants, have a new café plus equestrian, hardware, country wear, wild bird, pet food and smallholder sections.

The beer-and-burger Father’s Day promotion was devised by garden retailing consultant Doug Stewart.

* The Squires group is promoting Father’s Day with a gift list for customers stuck for ideas.

The list includes

  • ‘Champagne Afternoon Tea’ at selected centres
  • Racing Car wash bag
  • Motoring Memories jigsaw
  • Super Dad Beer Selection
  • Ultimate Dad Stuff book
  • DIY Essentials tin
  • ‘Growing Clematis Successfully’ talk and demo by clematis expert Raymond Evison
