Tea and cakes boost garden centre sales

The Easter Bank Holiday usually marks the start of the gardening season for the green-fingered, but according to new figures, garden centres are making more money through selling food, gifts and clothes than from the sale of flowers and shrubs.

To keep business healthy, many garden centres are also trying to attract more customers by offering customers more to do when they get there.
