Sluggish start to the year for Veg-2-Go sales

Whilst the GTN Garden product chart shows customers to be more active than usual outdoors for the time of year, sales of seeds, onion sets and seed potatoes are still in sluggish mode according to the Epos data provided for the Veg 2 Gro chart.

Sales are up on last week and year to date but almost 50% down on the first three weeks of 2012 and 2011.  Let’s hope it’s possibly because veg plots are too wet to work on them just yet and not an indicator of lower sales to come.

At the top of the Veg 2 Gro chart are Stuttgarter Giant Onion Sets fromTaylors Bulbs, infact at numbers 1 and 3 with two different pack sizes.

Arran Pilot is the biggest selling seed potatoe by pack volumes.
