More variety in GYO sales

Athough onion sets and seed potatoes continue to dominate sales in the Grow Your Own sector, more interest is being shown in beetroot, tomato, lettuce and spinach.

Taylors Onion Sets hold on to the top four places in the GTN Bestsellers Veg-2-Gro chart although Red Baron has replaced Stuttgarter at No 1.

Unwins is the bestselling brand of seed potatoes with Charlotte moving to No 5 and Pentland Javelin to No 6.

The highest climber this week is Thompson & Morgan Beetroot Detroit 2 Crimson Globe as it jumps 25 places to No 23. The same company’s Lettuce Mazor is also the highest new entry at No 26.

There are five re-entries this week, headed by Suttons Spinach Perpetual Leaf Beet at No 30. The others are:
  • Unwins Seed Potatoes Juliette Salad at No 37 and Unwins Have a Grow Seed Potatoes Vale Emerald at No 48.
  • Thompson & Morgan Pepper Chilli Numex Twilight at No 43 and Thompson & Morgan Leek Musselburgh Improved at No 46.
