|
Thompson & Morgan has revealed a sharp improvement in performance in its latest accounts. For the year ending June 30th 2016, the company generated an EBITDA of £2.1m, up from £0.85m in 2015. Turnover has increased to £34m from £32m in the prior year.
The company has benefited from more efficient operations as its investment in industry-leading IT pays off, along with a shift away from traditional catalogues to a more web based marketing platform.
In addition, the company has increased the range of products that it offers online and now has the widest range available to gardeners in the UK.
The Ipswich-based retailer dominates the online market, with its websites receiving double the number of visitors of its nearest competitor*. It is the only plant retailer that has its own breeding operation and has developed some of the UK’s most popular plant varieties over the years, including Buddleia Buzz and Foxglove Illumination.
