Worlds End for Dobbies as Blue Diamond take over Aylesbury

Blue Diamond have been confirmed as the new leaseholder of Dobbies Aylesbury which, it was disclosed earlier this week, will be closing on March 2nd.

The Aylesbury garden centre, previously known as Worlds End Garden Centre was set up by Jim and Len Bone in the early 1970’s and was so successful that it was sold several times for multi-million pound deals.  Those included to The Garden Centre Group (Wyevale) in 1993 and latterly to Dobbies in 2019 when the asking price from Wyevale was £13 million.

GTN Xtra understands Blue Diamond will take over the site by Monday 10th March at the latest with all of the staff being retained.  Alan Roper, Blue Diamond Managing Director told GTN Xtra that a full Blue Diamond re-fit will happen in due course.

Just driven past it (17th March). Looks as though it's being dismantled to make way for HS2.
