Garden centres add support to The National Rose Festival
Garden centres are throwing their weight behind The National Rose Festival, which takes places from June 23 to July 1.
The event is being backed by top rose growers, including David Austin, Peter Beales and Blue Diamond-owned Fryers, plus more than 60 garden centres are fully behind it.
The National Rose Festival is also being supported by The Sun, whose columnist Peter Seabrook said: “The Rose Society UK was recently formed in the wake of the demise of the Royal National Rose Society last year, owing to massive pension-fund debts. This was a great shame and everything needs to be done to support the efforts of these keen rosarians to get this new organisation serving the interests of the UK’s rose lovers off the ground.”
Haskins, Stewarts, Blue Diamond, Klondyke, Millbrook and Baytree are among the garden centres taking part.
