L-R: Lucie Saggs (Petal & Stem) and Richard Wells (Squire’s)
Customers at Squire’s Garden Centre in Badshot Lea will be able to pick up a bouquet of cut flowers with their usual garden shopping.
Petal & Stem florist has moved from its shop in Farnham to a prime position just inside the entrance of the centre and will open from Tuesday to Sunday.
Run by Badshot Lea resident Lucie Saggs (above, with centre manager Richard Wells) – herself a former member of the Squire’s team – Petal & Stem has a strong following locally for beautiful cut flowers.
Lucie said she was delighted to be back at Squire’s: “I loved my time working at Squire’s and have been coming back regularly as a customer since I left six years ago. Having my own shop-in-shop here is perfect in so many ways – it’s wonderful to meet up again with so many of the same Squire’s customers, to welcome my own customers from Weybourne Road, and to be back working with the friendly Squire’s team. It’s like coming home! Squire’s is a great location with plenty of free parking, and strong footfall, which is so vital for a small business like mine.”
Sarah Squire, chairman of Squire’s said floristry was a service many customers had asked for. “There is a natural synergy between a floristry and the plants we offer, and it has long been a dream of ours to be able to offer floristry at the centre. We are delighted to work with such a talented local independent florist. I am so pleased that the sight of fresh flowers greets customers as soon as they enter the centre.”
