Peter Beales Roses scoops its 29th Chelsea gold

Peter Beales Roses has been awarded its 29th Gold medal at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024. Located in the Grand Pavilion (GPF089), the Peter Beales stand has captivated visitors with its stunning display of roses, celebrating the timeless beauty and diversity of these beloved flowers.

This year's central display honours the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), with whom Peter Beales Roses has partnered to celebrate the charity's 200th anniversary. The highlight of the now award-winning display is the grand unveiling of the "With Courage" rose, a special variety bred to celebrate the work of the RNLI’s brave volunteers and to raise vital funds for the life-saving charity. This beautiful new rose was officially unveiled yesterday (Monday, 20th May) during Press Day with a special photocall featuring Blue Peter presenters Anthea Turner, Janet Ellis, and Lindsey Russell, symbolic of the long-standing relationship between Blue Peter and the RNLI.

Despite the RHS Chelsea Flower Show having been open for only a day and a half so far, the Peter Beales stand has already attracted a wealth of celebrity visitors, including Joanna Lumley, Kate Humble, Joanna Scanlon, David Mitchell, Johnny Ball, Amanda Holden, Greg Davies, Joel Dommett, Kirstie Allsopp, Caroline Quentin, and many more.

Covering over 100 square meters, the Peter Beales display showcases a breathtaking array of roses, demonstrating the company's dedication to the nation’s favourite bloom.

The instantly recognisable rose-covered arches welcome guests to the fragrant and sensory display, which encourages them to linger and enjoy the beauty of the flowers. As well as ‘With Courage,’ multiple coloured and scented varieties come together in a breathtaking display, each reaching their height, and exhibited in different ways to showcase the vibrant blooms.

Arches are adorned with the deep crimson ‘Chevy Chase,’ the enchanting pure white ‘Rambling Rector,’ and the delightful ‘Paul's Himalayan Musk,’ as well as the majestic ‘Waterloo.’ Stepping further into the immersive display, visitors encounter special varieties like ‘Rachel's Joy,’ ‘Highgrove,’ ‘Loyal Companion,’ ‘MacMillan Nurse,’ and ‘Pippin,’ each a living tribute to Peter Beales' legacy.

Elsewhere, the display features old historical roses, such as ‘Comte de Chambord,’ ‘White Pet,’ and the striking ‘Rosa Mundi.’ Obelisks stand tall, proudly presenting the ‘Siluetta’ range of patio climbers alongside the captivating ‘Purple Skyliner.’
