Christmas product sales riding high

GTN’s Christmas Bestsellers Top 50 shows a drop of 8% for October year on year, but still riding high compared to October Christmas sales volumes from three or four years ago.

Personalised products continue to dominate, accounting for seven of the Top 10 most popular Christmas items.

Highlights of week 43 (week ending October 28) were:

  • History & Heraldry Angel/Snowman Hanging Decoration stays at No 1.
  • Armitage’s Dog Advent Calendar moves up to No 9 and is the only Advent calendar in the Top 50.
  • Festive’s Luxury Holographic Thick Tinsel 2m is the highest re-entry, back in at No 14.

With the GTN Christmas Products Top 10 continuing to be dominated by personalised products there have been some big movements from chocolate and other confectionary lines to push them up the chart.

Tree decorations continue to sell well along with window decorations.

Highlights of week 44 (week ending November 4) were:

  • Kinnerton Chocolate Sprouts Net 75g moved 17 places up the chart to reach the Top 10.
  • IC’s Window Gel Christmas Tree is the highest re-entry at No 18.
  • Paper+Design Twist & Sprout Toilet Roll is a new entry at No  49.
