A Bayer Garden team is taking to the road this February to provide technical and sales training to garden centre staff across the country.
The delegates will learn about Bayer Garden’s proven new in-store sales strategy for weedkillers. They will also get a better understanding of new generation neonicotinoids and how they differ to imidacloprid. They will also and learn about common weeds, pests and diseases and their control. The team will also aid in training garden centre staff on the Sustainable Use Directive, which is coming into force in November 2015.
“The greater the knowledge of garden centre staff, the easier their jobs, particularly with the advent of the Sustainable Use Directive and gardeners’ questions about the appropriate use of garden chemicals,” said Alison Mulvaney, Product Manager of Bayer Garden. “Our training days have been designed to give staff the information they need to help their customers and boost sales.
“In particular, understanding our new weedkiller strategy will really benefit garden centres and their staff. The simplified Bayer Garden range, new packaging and radically different fixture layout have been proven to boost sales. Shoppers’ questions are answered at the fixture helping them arrive at the purchase decision, freeing up staff, and finally merchandising the selves is quicker and simpler, again saving time.”
Attendees of the roadshows will be able to enter a merchandising competition. This is to take their learnings regarding the weedkiller segmentation part of the roadshow and create the most effective weedkiller fixture in their garden centre.
The training days are taking place in Cambridge (18 February), Leeds (20 February), Guildford (25 February) and Birmingham (27February).
