Bents helps to bring smiles to local children

Action for Children is dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people in the UK and just before Christmas the charity’s regional team visited Bents Garden & Home to collect the many gifts that had been left at the Centre’s dedicated collection point.

The charity collected gifts, including £1000 worth of toys and treats donated by Bents, all of which will help bring smiles to children and young people in the Warrington area.

Action for Children provides practical and emotional care and support for children and young people throughout the year, and at Christmastime it focuses on spreading a little happiness with its Secret Santa campaign.  Bents has for several years hosted a dedicated gift collection point, where customers and colleagues have been able to donate their new and unwrapped gifts.

Said Charlotte Nichols MP who joined the team for the occasion: “Christmas is a time for charity, for giving and for sharing so it’s great to see so much generosity from our local community.  Every donation, big or small, will make a huge difference, and will help bring a little happiness to so many young lives in our local area this Christmas.”

Matthew Bent, Managing Director at Bents Garden & Home added: “A big thank you to all of our customers and colleagues who have donated gifts.  At this time of year and now more than ever we want to help spread kindness to others and are extremely proud to have been able to support Action for Children once again.”

Kerry Roe-Ely, regional manager for the North West at Action for Children, said, “We are so grateful for the generosity of Bents Garden & Home and their customers. Because of you, many children will wake up on Christmas morning to a wonderful surprise.”
