Melcourt marks Floral Thursday with £2,830 donation to Greenfingers

Melcourt celebrated Floral Thursday at Glee with the presentation of a £2,830 donation to Greenfingers Charity.

Throughout the year, Melcourt’s technical and sales teams have been travelling the country giving talks to garden clubs and horticultural groups. While these have traditionally been offered free of charge, in 2025 the company invited groups to consider making a donation to Greenfingers, with a suggested contribution to help guide support.

Thanks to the generosity of garden clubs, £1,415 was raised. Melcourt then matched the total, bringing the overall donation to £2,830.

The presentation took place on Floral Thursday at GLEE, with Greenfingers’ Director of Fundraising & Communications, Linda Petrons, joining the celebration.

Nikki Burton, Melcourt, said: “We’ve been delighted with the amount raised through the generosity of garden clubs, who really enjoy and value the talks we give about our work at Melcourt. It’s always rewarding to share knowledge and guidance on peat-free growing, and even more so knowing that the support this year is going directly to Greenfingers. We’re so pleased to dedicate our fundraising to them and to help their wonderful work continue.”

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising & Communications at Greenfingers Charity, added: “We are so grateful to Melcourt and to the many garden clubs who contributed so generously. Their support will help us continue to create magical gardens in children’s hospices - special spaces where children and families can play, grow, learn, care and remember. It was truly heartwarming to see the passion and commitment of the Melcourt team in supporting our work, we really cannot thank them enough.”
