Garden PR agency kicks off 2026 with appointment of plant pest specialist

Garden PR agency, Honest Communications, has started the new year on a high by welcoming plant pest expert Tessa Cobley to its portfolio of brands.

One of the leading voices in biological pest control, with years of hands-on horticultural experience, Tessa is on a mission to help both professionals, home gardeners and houseplant enthusiasts understand common plant pest problems and adopt sustainable, effective solutions to tackle them while supporting a thriving ecosystem.

Tessa also runs Ladybird Plantcare, her biological pest control business, which provides consumers with a range of sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions for tackling common plant pests both in the home and garden.

Honest Communications, which was recently named the CIPR’s Specialist PR Consultancy of the Year for its work in the gardening space, will lead all PR and media relations activity for Tessa.

Led by account director Fay Clarkson, the team will position Tessa as a go-to industry commentator and trusted expert voice across the trade and consumer gardening landscape. Activity will include thought leadership, seasonal advice, media briefings, and educational content designed to help target audiences better understand and manage plant pest challenges across gardens and indoor growing spaces.

Holly Daulby, managing director of Honest Communications, said: “Sustainable gardening practices are one of the most important talking points in the sector today, and Tessa brings unparalleled expertise, clarity and passion to the topic. Her knowledge and passion for planet-friendly solutions is truly inspiring, and we’re excited to help amplify her voice at a time when professionals, home gardeners and houseplant enthusiasts alike are looking for expert, trustworthy guidance. It’s a brilliant way for us to start the year.”

Tessa Cobley added: “I’m delighted to be working with Honest Communications. Their deep understanding of the horticultural industry, combined with their reputation for championing specialist voices, made them the perfect fit for me. I’m really looking forward to sharing practical, accessible insight on plant pest control and supporting gardeners, houseplant lovers, retailers and the wider industry in tackling plant pest challenges with confidence.”

Tessa Cobley joins Honest Communications’ growing portfolio of horticulture and lifestyle brands, including Charles Bentley, elho, Hillier Garden Centres, Wilkinson Sword Garden Tools, Town & Country, WOLF-Garten, Seedball and Cobra.
