Late surge on tomatoes boosts veg sales



The GTN Bestsellers Veg-2-Gro chart is showing a late surge of tomatoes but chillies are still remaining hot.

  • Gardeners Kitchen Tomatoberry is the highest new entry while the same company’s Patio Tomato Totem is the highest re-entry.
  • But the red hot chilli surge continues with eight lines in the Top 50 this week. Sales are actually 10% up on last year.
  • There are three new entries from the Suttons Chilli Fiesta range while Suttons Grafted Chilli Pepper F1 Medina is at No 2.
