Garden centre sales experience slow start to March Exclusive GTN Bestsellers Garden Centre Epos data analysis
The cold weather at the start of March slowed garden centre volume sales slightly, down by 1% on the previous week and they were significantly down on the same week last year, by 37%. The same week last year was much better weather and came at the end of Lockdown #3.
The week was however higher than the average first week of March sales over the previous five years.
It was good to see more product innovation at the Garden Press Event this week. Wildlife World won the Best New Product Award for their Plastic Free Gardening Rubber seed cells with many consumer press journalists raving about the concept and the range.
