Netherlands trade shows to swop their top plants
Netherlands nursery stock trade shows GrootGroenPlus and Plantarium are to exchange their respective Novelties of the Year this summer. The winning plants at both shows are chosen by the Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society. Plantarium, which takes place this month, will show GrootGroenPlus’s winner – Leucothoe keiskei 'Opstal16', from Boomkwekerij Ron van Opstal BV in Zundert. Plantarium’s choice to be shown at GrootGroenPlus in September, will not be announced until their show opens. Leucothoe keiskei 'Opstal16' has very narrow, elegantly bent leaves that turn a dark shade of red in autumn – a welcome addition to the range of shrubs for autumn colour.
