PPR’s new Dragons’ Den company goes back five generations

Fuelled by a massive boost from successfully appearing on Dragon’s Den and a further £150k worth of publicity secured by Paskett PR, WoodBlocX, the brand that secured £75k of funding from the programme in October, faces 2013 in buoyant mood.

But the family behind it are hardly strangers to the timber industry as the firm can trace its history back five generations.

Henry Blake’s great-great-great-grandmother Elsie Smith started a timber supplies business in Scotland in 1890 and today the main family business, Munro Sawmills from Dingwall, is the UK’s largest producer of wooden fencing panel components.
