Langlands Garden Centre director James Ducker braved the treacherous driving conditions in East Yorkshire this week to deliver food to the Hull Food Bank.
The garden centre had been forced to closed because of the bad weather and the fresh food would have gone to waste.
It brought a host of great comments of Facebook and airtime on local radio.
Julie Hardcastle said: "Excellent company caring for people without food – you are a credit to employers."
And Nola Pears wrote: "Good on ya, Langlands, well done for thinking of others, and well done young man for braving the cold to deliver."
Michala Brooks commented: "So glad you’ve put others before gain in times like this."
