Teeing up for the Roof of Africa – Charity Golf Day Backing the Greenfingers Kilimanjaro Challenge 2026

Fancy making plans for next year, plans that also help raise vital funds for the Greenfingers Charity and the 23 brave souls taking on the challenge of a lifetime to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, the legendary Roof of Africa? Then tee off your 2026 calendar with a very special Charity Golf Day on Thursday 16th April 2026, in support of the Greenfingers Kilimanjaro Challenge, which will see the team take on the mountain from 10th–21st June 2026.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Tewkesbury Park Golf Club, this exciting Ryder Cup-style pairs competition will bring together golfers, sponsors and supporters for a memorable day of sport, networking and fundraising. All funds raised will directly support the essential work of Greenfingers Charity. The ambitious Kilimanjaro Challenge, in which 23 determined supporters will trek to the summit, is designed to raise awareness and inspire donations for this vital cause.

The day will begin with registration, coffee and bacon rolls from 11am, followed by a team meeting at 12 noon and a shotgun start at 12:30pm. The event will conclude with a dinner and presentation at 6pm. Teams of two can enter for £250, with golf buggies available for hire at £50. Overnight accommodation is also available at the venue.

In addition to team entry, there are a wide range of sponsorship opportunities available for businesses and individuals looking to ensure the day goes off in style.  Opportunities include sponsorship of key competition holes such as Longest Drive, Nearest the Pin, Beat the Pro, the Putting Competition and the Evening Dinner, as well as headline event sponsorship. These packages offer excellent visibility both on the course and across Greenfingers’ digital and media channels.

Linda Petrons, Director of Fundraising and Communications at the Greenfingers Charity, said: “This golf day is a fantastic way for our supporters to enjoy a brilliant day out while directly helping us continue our vital work creating magical garden spaces for children with life‑limiting conditions. At the same time, they will be showing encouragement for our incredible Kilimanjaro team, whose extraordinary personal challenge is designed to raise funds and awareness for the charity. We are hugely grateful to everyone getting involved, whether as golfers, sponsors or supporters.”
