BHETA appoints Steve Edwards Sector Manager for DIY and Garden

BHETA has appointed Steve Edwards as its new DIY Sector Manager for Home Improvement and Garden.  His role will be to support existing members with added value initiatives in the home and garden markets, as well as building the membership base through recruitment.

A well-known industry figure with a substantial career history in both the DIY and housewares sectors, Steve’s career includes marketing and management roles with leading brands such as Curver, Spur Shelving, Siro, and Hamilton, where he was Managing Director.  Latterly, Steve has undertaken roles within Hamilton’s parent company, the Orkla Group, whose eleven portfolio companies range across DIY and housewares as well as personal care brands through to food ingredients, confectionery, and snacks.

Steve’s track record is practical and ‘hands on’ and includes both corporate remits and experience of private ownership roles.  As he explains, “I’ve worked in a wide range of sectors and for different sizes of business, enabling me to understand our members business needs and tailor our services to meet their requirements.  I’m also here to learn and to share knowledge and experience with everyone who makes decisions in the industry.  In fact, that opportunity is what has attracted me so strongly to this role at BHETA.”

Steve can support BHETA members with strategic business plans for growth, domestic and international business development, product marketing, brand launches, managing teams and processes, implementing change, and general management.

Will Jones, Chief Operating Officer at BHETA added, “Steve brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the established BHETA team.  His track record is wide-ranging and both corporate and hands-on.  I’m look forward to working with him spearheading existing and new added value initiatives for BHETA members.”

Further information about BHETA’s extensive programme of events and initiatives together with all BHETA member services can be found on the BHETA website www.bheta.co.uk or by contacting the BHETA Member Services Team on 0121 237 1130.
