The stormy weather of last weekend produced the first week of plant sales down year on year after three consecutive weeks of increases.
Hopefully this week when the Indian Summer weather has returned will renew gardener’s enthusiasm to get out, buy some plants and decorate their gardens in readiness for late autumn and winter.
- Erysimum proved very popular despite the storms, increasing sales by 36% to move up to No 5.
- Primula sales continued to grow too. Up by 12% to No 6.
- Bellis sales doubled as they moved 25 places up the chart to No 18.
