Completion of the 12,000 sqm garden centre for Plantorama is in sight. Smiemans Projecten started this spring with this project in the city of Tilst.
A new 9,000 sqm garden centre is also being built in Hørsholm for this successful garden centre chain. Despite the Corona virus, Smiemans has succeeded in realising both locations in eight months.
Durability
Being responsible for the environment plays a major role at both garden centres. In addition to the standard LED lighting, green roofs and PV panels, Smiemans has developed special wide rain gutters to collect as much rainwater as possible and prevent nuisance during heavy rainfall/ a rain storm. Plantorama uses this rainwater for the irrigation of their plants.
Experience centre
In addition to the extensive range of products, there is also a special animal department for visitors. And while children are playing in Playland, you drink or eat something in the extensive restaurant. "We think it is important that customers can enjoy themselves and relax with a cup of coffee while they are with us. It should be part of the experience. We are specialists in creating atmosphere and experience." says Peter Vang Christensen, owner of the Plantorama garden centre chain.
Final work
Everyone is now working hard to finalize the two projects. At this moment 3 different types of screening are being installed in Tilst; a Christmas cloth, bird netting and a roller shading cloth. Plantorama's 13th garden centre in Hørsholm is also nearing completion. Smiemans started construction there in July. Both locations will open their doors in the spring of 2021.
