Last weekend’s snow, which was heavy enough to cause centres to close in the Midlands, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire, made it impossible for overall weekly sales volumes to reach the pre-Christmas peak expected, according to EPOS data analysed by GTN Bestsellers.
Sales volumes of the GTN Christmas Top 50 Bestsellers dipped too but still performed at 9% above previous year’s levels.
GTN Bestsellers Top 50 sales volumes compared to the same week last year:
- Garden Products Top 50 – down 29%
- Growing Media Top 50 – down 5%
- Wild Bird Care Products Top 50 – up 4%
- Christmas Products Top 50 – up 15%
- All Plants index – down 1%
- All Items index – down 13%
