It’s a #FloralFriday thanks from Greenfingers Charity

Greenfingers Charity would like to once again thank all those who helped to spread a little #FloralFriday cheer last week (Friday 15th May).

Amongst the many fabulous posts, leading the way and pretty in pink were Vitax and Adam Taylor.  Celebratory gardener and Greenfingers Charity Patron, Ann-Marie Powell spent the day gardening in her beautiful floral frock, which was specially chosen by her personal stylist, Bert (aka as her son!). Mike Lind shared his #FloralFriday photos to celebrate the re-opening of Monkton Elm Garden Centre on Wednesday. And GTNs Trevor Pfeiffer once again supported the initiative by rocking up at his local Van Hage Garden Centre wearing one of his many favourite floral shirts.  Glee and LOFA joined in the fun by creating and posting floral videos whilst amateur gardener and photographer Tim Howell brought more than a little cheer with his film.

This coming #FloralFriday (Friday 22nd May) Greenfingers Charity will be celebrating its presence at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2019.  Designed by Kate Gould and entirely funded by a private donor along with many gifts in kind, The Greenfingers Charity Garden was amongst last year’s highlights. The charity will be sharing its favourite Chelsea pics and would love you to share yours too.

By now, you know what to do:

  • Post your favourite floral image or floral selfie on social media
  • Use the hashtags #FloralFriday #hortindustry #greenfingers
  • Tag @GreenfingersCharity
  • If you can, text FLORALFRIDAY to 70085 to donate £5 to Greenfingers Charity
  • Nominate a friend(s) to do the same

The benefits of gardening and spending time outside in the fresh air is being felt more than ever.  Whilst this can only be good for our industry, this message is also vitally important for Greenfingers Charity as its faces a challenging road ahead.

With a waiting list of hospices that need their help today, by joining the fun of #FloralFriday YOU will be helping to making difference to life-limited children and their families.

To find out more about the work of Greenfingers Charity and how you can help, contact Director of Fundraising and Communications Linda Petrons by emailing Linda@greenfingerscharity.org.uk or calling 01494 674749.
