Rob Giles takes on marathon for Greenfingers

Rob Giles, long‑time supporter of Greenfingers Charity, is stepping up to his biggest challenge yet - running his first ever marathon at the Manchester Marathon in support of the charity’s life‑changing work.

Greenfingers Charity creates therapeutic, inspiring gardens for children’s hospices across the UK. These outdoor spaces offer families a place to breathe, reflect, play, and connect during the most difficult moments of their lives. Each garden is designed to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of normality to children with life‑limiting conditions.

Rob’s connection to Greenfingers goes back a while – after nearly two decades working in the gardening industry, the owner of Cultiv8 Marketing has consistently supported the charity. Being involved in fundraising for Greenfingers has been a running theme during this journey but this time, he’s taking things to a whole new level…

“I’ve worked in horticulture for most of my life, and I’ve always admired the incredible impact Greenfingers has on families who need it most,” said Rob. “Running my first marathon feels like the ultimate way to give something back and help fund more of these magical gardens.”

Rob’s fundraising target is £1,000, but he hasn’t hit that milestone yet. With race day fast approaching on 19th April 2026, he’s calling on friends, colleagues, businesses, and the wider community to get behind him.

Every donation no matter the size helps Greenfingers continue creating the gardens that mean so much to so many families.
