After another succesful Garden Re-Leaf Day of FUNdraising, Greenfingers Chairman, Boyd Douglas Davies told GTN Xtra: "It was fantastic to see support from the horticultural industry up and down the country on Friday. From waving off the walkers in the South to welcoming the North walkers back I have been humbled and grateful for the support and enthusiasm everyone has shown for Garden Re-Leaf Day 2025.
“This day back in 2011 I came up with the idea for Garden Re-Leaf Day and I had no idea that it would become such a feature of the industry calendar and go on to raise over £1million, and counting, for charity!
“Thank you to everyone that has baked cakes, held quizzes, walked, run, cycled, had planting marathons and run raffles. You have all been amazing and been great FUNdraisers"
Linda Petrons added: "With 63 walkers, 3 runners, and 2 cyclists setting off from Tring Garden Centre, alongside 14 walkers leaving the Pickled Pheasant in Holmfirth, Garden-Leaf Day 2025 has been another great success!
"It has been a sunshiny day of networking and fundraising to once make a real difference to life-limited children and families who rely on the care of hospices across the UK.
“In addition to the walks and cycle rides, garden centres and countless others came together, ensuring that this special day remains a standout event on the horticultural calendar.
“We are enormously grateful to our industry friends for embracing the floral spirit and raising essential funds to support the work of Greenfingers. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of volunteers who helped make these events, up and down the country, an unforgettable triumph. Thank you for being part of something truly meaningful!"
