Thousands of £'s raised by garden centres on Garden Re-Leaf Day

News has been coming in over the weekend of the many fundraising and publicity gaining activities that took place on Garden Re-Leaf Day 2015.

Andy Bunker (right) was one of the participants in their silly hat competition that ran all day with their Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day quiz in the evening.

"I am delighted to say, including pledges, we have hit our target of over £1,000," said Andy.

"The hat idea went down a storm and I kept mine on all day until 10pm.  I had many comments on how life like it looked.  There was a rumour that I was scouted by Darren Clarke for the next Ryder Cup golf team."

Andy also claims his hat was better than his dad's, Derek Bunker.  We'll let you be the judge of that.

At Frosts Milletts Farm customers were greeted by lifesize Gnomes as reported by the Oxford Times http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/news/11886272.Customers_welcomed_by_staff_gnomes/

John Little reports from Poplars Garden Centre where they raised over £500 for Greenfingers during their quiz night.  " A great time was had by all due to quizmaster Doug. Jacket potato supper by Poplars Pantry and excellent raffle thanks to Poplars suppliers raised £500.  The winning team was Fork Handles."  (See more quiz night pictures below including from Burford House Garden Store at Tenbury Wells.)

At Hilltop Garden Centre and all the other Hillview Group Garden Stores they ran a 'how long is a piece of string' fundraising activity for customers to win a £150 trolley dash prize.

Keep sending in pictures of your Garden Re-Leaf Day activity and your local press coverage to trevor.pfeiffer@tgcmc.co.uk and we'll publish them all over the coming weeks.
