Scotts press on with hydroponics drive
Scotts Miracle-Gro has spent €136 million on a 75% stake in Nertherlands-based hydroponics equipment supplier Gavita. The acquisition will help Scotts subsidiary Hawthorne Gardening to develop its hydroponics offer, run by Chris Hagedorn, son of the company’s CEO and partly driven by the US trend towards legalisation of marijuana. Gavita makes lighting and related hydroponics equipment.
