HTA Director of Policy and Communications to leave

The Horticultural Trades Association has announced that James Clark, Director of Policy and Communications, has decided to leave after almost three years with the organisation.

HTA Chairman, James Barnes, said: “I want to thank James for all his hard work and commitment to the HTA and its members. He has achieved a huge amount – leading the successful campaign to re-open garden centres as the first sector out of the Covid lockdown in May, establishing the HTA’s first ever sustainability function and launching the Association’s new magazine, Inside Horticulture – delivering improved member value. I wish James all the very best for the future”.

James Clark said: “I’m obviously sad to leave the HTA but it is the right time to do so. I’m excited about new opportunities. I’m really pleased to have worked with such a great, award-winning policy and communications team. Together we achieved key policy change, improved the Industry’s media profile and delivered insightful member communications. I leave with respect and gratitude to an industry that does so much that contributes to local communities, improves the environment and brightens peoples lives.”

James has agreed to help with the transition until 15 April 2022. The HTA will commence the recruitment of a successor in due course.
