Hillier announces Childhood Cancer Awareness Month initiative for Abby's Heroes

Hillier has announced its September initiative for its charity partner, Abby’s Heroes. The charity supports children receiving cancer treatment and their families who come under the care of the Piam Brown and the Teenagers and Young Adults wards at the University Hospital Southampton.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a subject naturally very close to the heart of the charity, and Hillier is supporting the cause by raising awareness and vital funds for Abby’s Heroes. Throughout the month, Hillier is donating £2 for every 2 litre Heuchera purchased at any of its 19 garden centres or online.

Throughout September, Hillier will also be donating £5 to Abby’s Heroes from every afternoon tea for two sold in its restaurants. Available from 2pm daily, customers can choose from Hillier’s traditional or its new savoury afternoon tea to share with a loved one.

Chis Francis, Hillier Garden Centre and Wholesale Nurseries Director, commented: “We are delighted to announce our September fundraising initiatives for Abby’s Heroes, as part of marking Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Heuchera is a beautiful plant that we hope will be very popular with our customers. Afternoon tea is a wonderful experience and a lovely way for our customers to spend quality time together, something that is incredibly important to the children and families supported by Abby’s Heroes.”

Hillier has pledged to support the charity over the course of two years through fundraising activities and providing advice and expertise. Abby’s Heroes, supporting families in the south of the country, is located close to several Hiller Garden Centres. Hillier hope to raise awareness in local areas of the work the charity does.

As well as the Hillier initiatives, there are many other ways to support Abby’s Heroes, including the Hillier Just Giving page, Amazon Smile, and Abby’s Heroes Lottery. Visit the Hillier Charity Partnership webpage for more information via www.hillier.co.uk.
