elho secures recognition for sustainability leadership

Sustainable plant pot and garden accessory innovator elho has added another major accolade to its 2025 achievements, securing Best Impact Report at the ESG Sustainability & Purpose Awards. The win follows the company’s three successes at the GIMA Awards earlier this month, further cementing elho’s position as a market leader in sustainable practice.

Celebrating excellence in environmental and social governance, the ESG Sustainability & Purpose Awards recognise organisations demonstrating meaningful, measurable impact. The Best Impact Report category rewards clarity, structure and accuracy in ESG reporting, including year-on-year KPI comparability, transparent objectives, and clear identification of the report’s stakeholders.

elho’s annual Impact Report impressed judges with its data-led approach and commitment to transparency, both hallmarks of the brand’s long-standing sustainability strategy and its B Corp status.

Highlights from elho’s latest Impact Report include:

  • CO2 footprint 2.5 times lower than non-sustainable plastic pots and 6× lower than ceramic pots
  • Since 2024, 100% of elho products are made from recycled plastic
  • 100% renewable energy usage, powered by elho’s own wind turbine and solar panels
  • Local production in the Netherlands supported by a strong commitment to emission-free transport
  • 13 million kg of plastic waste transformed into high-quality, circular design products in 2024

David Nicholson, UK, NEU & ROW Sales Manager at elho, said: “We’re still celebrating our triple GIMA success, so to be recognised again so soon is an incredible achievement. Being awarded the Best Impact Report accolade reaffirms our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Our annual report helps consumers and retail partners understand the steps we’re taking to reduce our footprint, support biodiversity and continually innovate. It’s a tool for accountability and a clear statement of our purpose.”

The ESG award follows elho’s standout performance at the 2025 GIMA Awards, where the green basics composter won both the Sustainability Award and the Growing, Planting, Equipment & Sundries Sustainability category. The smart pebble was also named winner of the Best Multi-Media Marketing Campaign, while the green basics composter promo kit was a finalist in two additional categories.

David added: “This award reflects the passion and values that drive elho. Our mission is to inspire people to bring more greenery into their lives while ensuring our products actively contribute to a healthier planet. From recycled materials to circular design principles, our Impact Report demonstrates how we put these values into action as a B Corp.”
