Signposts to the future - by Swedish futurologist
|
Magnus Lindkvist from Sweden, who describes himself as a trendspotter and futurologist, painted a world in which “vertical thinking” created the opportunities”
He offered a host of epithets to illustrate how how the future might pan out: - “Ignore technology for a few decades,” he said. “Be agile, flexible and open-minded.”
- “Knowledge is dead information. Let go of it.”
- “Happiness is a rubbish measurement of well-being”
- “Be careful what you put in your head because you may never get it out.”
- “I hope you came here to become a creator. A trend is a sign that others are already doing it.”
- “Look for secrets. Look beyond the obvious.”
- “Experiment – the new way of thinking about risk is if we do the same thing for too long.”
- “You need a vision. Nokia stayed 25 years too long in the same thing and became vulnerable to a Californian fruit company….”
- The future can come from the past – by recycling good ideas.”
- “Make enemies. If people think it’s a stupid idea, you are on to a good thing.”
