The Pot Place Garden Centre is launching another appeal to fund emergency vehicles which will be sent to Ukraine.
The garden centre at Plumpton, Penrith, successfully delivered its first ambulance to the Polish Ambulance Service in Przemysl (a small city on the border with Ukraine) and within a few days it was over the border and on the frontline in Ukraine.
Because it was so well received by the garden centre’s Ukrainian contacts it has decided to launch a second appeal to take another ambulance and an ambulance motorcycle to Ukraine.
Posting on its Facebook pages the garden centre said:
“Our friends in Ukraine are still desperately short of emergency medical vehicles. So following our recent succesful trip to donate our first ambulance to The Lviv Ambulance Service (which is now on the frontline) we are launching our next appeal to take another ambulance AND a fast response motorcycle to them.
“Emergency Medical Transport in West Yorkshire will provide us with both the ambulance and the bike at discounted rates and both are fully operational with lights and sirens. We even have the bike on display at the garden centre for everyone to see!
“Alongside this Medical Aid Ukraine (North East) have promised to fill the ambulance with as much trauma equipment as they can fit in so all we need to do is raise the money to buy these vitally needed vehicles.
“We need to raise £12,500 for both, we know we can do it because of the support and commitment of our supporters, customers and our local community. As before we will pay for the fuel, ferries, insurance, return journey and anything else needed to get to Lviv if you can help us to raise the funds we need.
“You can donate in person at the garden centre or online here https://www.justgiving.com/.../ambulance-and-ambulance...
‘Please help us to make use of the fantastic network of contacts we have established here in the north of England, Przemysl (Poland) and of course Lviv – the effort must go on to save lives and support the people and defenders of Ukraine.”
