Strawberry and tomato plants add to sales
Young tomato and strawberry plants make their first showing in the GTN Veg-2-Gro chart for this year with three tomato varieties and three strawberry lines in the Top 50.
Salad seed potatoes are also big movers but there is still no sign of a massive rush to buy millions of salad leave seed packs in case there is another shortage of supermarket crops from Spain.
The main highlights this week were:
- Kapiteyn Shallot Golden Gourment was the highest new entry at No 21.
- Taylors Seed Potatoes Taster Pack Red Duke of York was the highest re-entry at No 13.
- KinderGarden Tomato Gardeners Delight, 4 Cell Plugs was the highest climber, jumping 30 places to No 17.
- Taylors Onion Sets Red Baron moved up to the top spot.
